The intrinsic mountain pass principle

چکیده
{ In this note we present a general mountain pass principle dropping any smoothness or even continuity assumptions on the functional. As a corollary, we prove existence of a point with an arbitrarily xed small slope if the "low" part of the "barrier" is suuciently far from the "boundary", obtaining in addition estimates for the location of the point.

On a p(x)-Kirchho equation via variational methods
This paper is concerned with the existence of two non-trivial weak solutions for a p(x)-Kirchho type problem by using the mountain pass theorem of Ambrosetti and Rabinowitz and Ekeland's variational principle and the theory of the variable exponent Sobolev spaces.
متن کاملOn the Linking Principle Youssef Jabri and Mimoun Moussaoui
During the last twenty years, many minimax theorems that have proved to be very useful tools in finding critical points of functionals have been established. They have all in common a geometric intersection property known as the linking principle. Our purpose in this paper is to give a linking theorem that strengthens and unifies some of these works. We think essentially to Ambrosetti-Rabinowit...
متن کاملMultiple Positive Solutions for Equations Involving Critical Sobolev Exponent in R N
This article concerns with the problem ?div(jruj m?2 ru) = hu q + u m ?1 ; in R N : Using the Ekeland Variational Principle and the Mountain Pass Theorem, we show the existence of > 0 such that there are at least two non-negative solutions for each in (0;).
متن کاملExistence of Three Solutions for a Biharmonic System with Weight
Existence and multiplicity of weak solutions for an elliptic system is studied. By using Ekeland’s variational principle and the mountain pass theorem, we prove existence of at least three weak solutions. AMS Subject Classifications: 35J40, 35J67.
متن کاملMULTIPLICITY RESULTS FOR A CLASS OF p(x)-KIRCHHOFF TYPE EQUATIONS WITH COMBINED NONLINEARITIES
Using the mountain pass theorem combined with the Ekeland variational principle, we obtain at least two distinct, non-trivial weak solutions for a class of p(x)-Kirchhoff type equations with combined nonlinearities. We also show that the similar results can be obtained in the case when the domain has cylindrical symmetry.
